Digitalization of a Region
Digital transformation is not only radically changing the way companies need to work in the future to stay innovative and competitive but it is also putting pressure on small and medium-sized enterprises to digitize their business processes and rethink their business models.
Companies therefore are facing the challenge of responding to this change in values by creating and living in a sustainable digital culture of innovation. However there is often a lack of specific know-how in developing strategies and implementing them consistently.
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Rheinhessen sees this as their task to respond to the requirements and concerns of companies in regards to digital transformation. In response to this, in June 2016 the Innovation and Environment Business Unit decided to take the position of the "Digital Economy Consultant" in order to serve as a point of contact for all digital business issues and cross-cutting issues of digitalization.
The IHK hub was founded as an initiative of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Rheinhessen and it offers the opportunity to capture and preserve digital activities around the IHK's house. It is committed to connecting economic powers in the region that aims to create collaboration on the digital transformation among the companies of Rheinhessen. Therefore, the IHK hub is closely linked with the companies and offers workshops, events, and activities on the topic of digital transformation with the intention of gradually initiating processes to master the challenges of digitalization together. A special focal point lies on small and medium-sized enterprises in particular, offering them a diverse range of workshops and events helping them to obtain practice-oriented information on specific topics of digitalization across all sectors and thereby to expand their digital network.
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Rheinhessen is thus helping to shape the future of Rheinhessen's companies.
