The German foreign chambers of commerce

more as a worldwide network

Some 120 German foreign chambers of commerce offices employing a staff of more than 1200 in over 80 countries around the world provide support for companies interested in bilateral economic transactions with Germany. They form a unique, performance-oriented network combining local market experience with global presence - the largest of its kind anywhere in the world. The foreign chambers of commerce offices are the result of initiatives by private companies, and are self-administered institutions geared to promoting German foreign trade. Today, foreign chamber of commerce offices can look back on 100 years of experience and a proven record of continuity, and thanks to the constant expansion their network are present in all of those countries in which German companies are particularly active: The German economy derives 97 percent of its foreign sales in countries where there is a foreign chamber of commerce representation.

Amongst other things, the foreign chambers of commerce:

  • Answer inquiries for specific economic information
  • Provide economic contacts
  • Offer consultation service to companies
  • Look after business people on visits from Germany
  • Organise training, and continuous training, courses for specialists and executives
  • Inform potential foreign exhibitors and visitors about exhibitions in Germany
  • Organise business meetings, conferences and seminars
Since the beginning of 2006, the foreign chambers of commerce offices not only offer individual services, but also a range of globally uniform services under the service brand name of DEinternational. The foreign chambers of commerce, the delegates-offices and representations are, therefore, the ideal partner for the German economy.
