Founded in 2017, the Association of Hessian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Hessischer Industrie- und Handelskammertag – HIHK) serves as common mouthpiece of the 10 CCIs in Hesse towards the federal government and local decision-makers. 

Additionally, seven CCIs in Hesse, Bavaria and Rhineland-Palatinate along the rivers Rhine and Main form the "PerFoRM” network. This joint initiative acts as spokesman for more than 340,000 small, medium and large businesses towards the public and political authorities in the region. 

The Association of German Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Deutsche Industrie- und Handelskammer, DIHK) located in Berlin and Brussels is the umbrella organisation of all 79 regional Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Germany. All enterprises and individual businesses registered in Germany are required by law to join a chamber of commerce, with the exception of skilled craftsmen, freelancers and agricultural businesses. Thus, the DIHK speaks for more than three million entrepreneurs. They include not only big companies but also retailers and innkeepers. This gives the association considerable political influence. It does not represent any specific corporate group but all commercial enterprises in Germany.

The network of German Chambers of Commerce Abroad (Auslandshandelskammern, AHKs) advises, consults and represents German companies worldwide wishing to develop or expand their business activities abroad. The AHKs represent German business interests in over 140 locations in ninety-two countries. They are membership organisations with approximately 51,000 membership companies worldwide. At the same time, the German Chambers of Commerce Abroad represent links between cultures. They are at home in two mentalities and in numerous languages. They have served as reliable partners for companies in their activities abroad for over 120 years.
