E-Media with complete Texts

Manuals and Logins

Using the Shibboleth authentication process, the Library of Commerce can allow users remote access to different databases at any time and from any location in the world.

Access and Requirements

It is possible to access the complete text of e-books held in the Ebook Central and 'borrow' books in electronic format. Saving and printing virtual books is also an option.
Similarly, full-text access to literature listed in the Emerald eJournals, Statista and WISO databases is possible using Shibboleth.
There are three requirements for using Shibboleth to access the full text of titles held on these databases: a computer or mobile device with internet access, a valid membership card for the Library of Commerce and a Shibboleth account (one-off registration).

Instructions

  1. Go to the home page of the database you wish to use. Even if you are searching on a computer not in the Library of Commerce, you still need to log into the library system. Click on the relevant phrase, which will be something like 'Institutional login', 'Select your region or group', 'Shibboleth login' or 'Campus Access'.
  2. On the following login screen, enter the number of your library membership card and your personal password. If you have not yet registered as a database user, select the option 'Register/Forgotten password' on the right navigation bar.
  3. The system only displays the terms and conditions for external use of the databases when you first registrate – please read and accept these. You will then see a note from the provider (digital ID card), which you also have to confirm.
After successful registration, you can use the different databases without having to log in again during the browser session. For more information about registration and logging in, please speak to a member of staff at the Library of Commerce or read the detailed guides (see below).
