    A licence is required under § 2 of the Passenger Transport Act (PBefG) for the carriage of passengers by car, bus and tram.

  • Patient transportation
    if you wish to set up a company to transport patients, you will need a licence in accordance with the Hamburg Emergency Services Act.

  • Pawnbroker
    You will be classed as a pawnbroker if you grant loans commercially taking pledged collateral to secure loans in addition to interest and costs. You will need a licence for this in accordance with § 34 of the German Industrial Code (GewO).

  • Pharmacy
    The operation of a pharmacy requires a licence in accordance with § 1 clause 1 of the Pharmacists Act (ApG).

  • Podiatrist (medical chiropody)
    Medical chiropody (which is different from cosmetic chiropody) requires a licence under § 1 clause 1 of the Podiatry Act.
    Condition applies: 2 years' full-time training followed by public examination
  • Postal services
    A licence is required under § 5 of the Post Act (PostG) for the carriage of correspondence.

  • Property developer
    Anyone acting commercially as a builder preparing or implementing construction projects for themselves or for third parties, or doing so as a construction manager on behalf of others requires a licence in accordance with § 34c of the German Industrial Code (GewO)
