The commercial or paid carriage of goods by vehicle where the permitted total weight including trailer exceeds 3.5 t requires a licence in accordance with § 3 of the Goods Transportation Act (GüKG).

In future, a catering licence will be required where alcohol is served. No licence is required under the Hospitality Act if only alcohol-free beverages and prepared meals are sold.
